Description
The class concentrates on getting the body position right and getting familiar with bike-body separation techniques. The goal is to enable more controlled, safer and if you want to, faster riding. The course suits well as a first MTB course for adults and junior riders with full-sized mountain bikes.
Attendees are expected to already handle the basic use of gears, brakes and other controls fluently. The class has no other skill pre-requirements, and it is well suited to riders both in bike park and on trails. The course ends in optional familiarization with the chair lift and easy flow trail. All the exercises are performed in the training area suitable for all level riders. The drills are tailored to suit the skill level of independent riders so that also more experienced riders can boost their riding with practice. The essential equipment and riding etiquette are also introduced during the course.
Practical Information
A proper, working mountain bike with hand operated brakes affecting both wheels is needed. A helmet and gloves are also required, and knee pads recommended.
Hill Ski Rent shop next to the gondola provides solutions to all equipment demands.
Please arrive at least half an hour before the lesson starts to allow enough time to rent the necessary equipment.
You don't need a lift ticket during the course
The course requires a minimum of two participants, or the length of the course will be shortened accordingly.
Meeting point front of the Ylläs express chairlift.
