Ylläs Bike School serves both beginners and more experienced mountain bikers who want to achieve the perfect technique. Our modern equipment and safety gear guarantee a pleasant and memorable experience at Finland’s largest bike park!




Downhill biking is a fun, fast-paced activity that can be challenging in a fell setting. Learning the basics with a teacher is much easier and nicer than alone. We offer both courses and private lessons.

Description

The participant is expected to already know how to use the mountain bike's gears, brakes, and other controls. There are no other prerequisites, and the course is suitable for those who ride both on trails and in a bike park. At the end of the course, there is an opportunity for a guided introduction to the chairlift, but all course exercises are conducted in the training area in a safe environment suitable for everyone. If necessary, more challenge can be added to the exercises so that even more experienced cyclists get new energy for their hobby. The course covers the cornerstones of good riding technique and bike control in different situations. Mountain biking etiquette, essential equipment, and the characteristics of various types of mountain bikes will also become familiar during the course.

Practical Information

Required EquipmentMountain bike: A functional mountain bike with hand brakes operating on both wheels is required to participate.Safety gear: A helmet and riding gloves are mandatory. A full-face helmet with a chin guard, as well as knee and elbow pads, are highly recommended.Rental: You can conveniently find all the rental equipment needed for the course at the Hill Ski Rent rental shop.Practical InformationLift ticket: You do not need a lift ticket during the course.Arrival: Please arrive at least half an hour early to ensure you have enough time to rent the necessary equipment.Meeting point: In front of the Ylläs Express chairlift.Participants: Minimum of 2 participants, otherwise the course duration will be shortened in proportion to the number of participants.
